Terms & Conditions
Welcome to Polished Pawfection! Our priority is to provide every dog with a safe, comfortable and enjoyable grooming experience.
By booking an appointment with Polished Pawfection, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
1. Appointments & Bookings
- All appointments must be booked in advance.
- Appointments can be made through our website, telephone, email or social media.
- Please ensure that all contact details and information provided at the time of booking are correct.
- Please arrive on time for your appointment.
- We reserve the right to refuse or reschedule appointments where necessary.
- Appointment durations are estimates and may vary depending on the dog's coat condition, behaviour and grooming requirements.
2. Cancellations & Missed Appointments
- We require at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment.
- Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice may incur a cancellation fee.
- Failure to attend an appointment without notice (a no-show) may result in a charge of up to 50% of the scheduled grooming price.
- Repeated missed appointments or late cancellations may result in a deposit or full payment being required for future bookings.
3. Deposits & Payments
- Payment is due upon collection of your dog unless otherwise agreed.
- We accept payment methods confirmed at the time of booking.
- Deposits may be required for certain appointments or services.
- Any agreed additional services will be charged accordingly.
- All outstanding balances must be settled before your dog leaves the salon.
4. Health & Medical Conditions
- Owners must disclose any known medical conditions, allergies, injuries, skin conditions or behavioural concerns before grooming.
- Please inform us of any medication your dog is taking.
- Dogs displaying signs of illness, contagious conditions or infectious skin problems may have their appointment postponed.
- We reserve the right to stop or refuse a grooming session if we believe continuing could compromise the dog's health or welfare.
- If your dog becomes unwell during their appointment, we will contact you and, where necessary, seek veterinary advice.
5. Behaviour & Temperament
- Owners must inform us of any history of aggression, biting, anxiety, nervousness or difficulties during grooming.
- We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue a service if a dog becomes distressed, aggressive or presents a risk to themselves or others.
- Where appropriate, grooming may be modified to suit the dog's individual needs.
- Any additional time or specialist handling required may incur an additional charge, which will be discussed with the owner.
6. Matting & Coat Condition
- Severely matted coats can cause discomfort and may conceal underlying skin problems.
- We will assess your dog's coat before grooming and discuss the most appropriate options with you.
- In cases of severe matting, a shorter haircut or complete shave-down may be necessary for the dog's welfare.
- We will always seek the owner's agreement before proceeding with a significant change to the requested haircut.
- We cannot guarantee a particular style or finish where coat condition prevents it.
- Additional charges may apply for extensive de-matting where appropriate and safe.
7. Fleas, Ticks & Parasites
- Dogs should arrive at the salon free from fleas and other external parasites.
- If fleas or ticks are discovered during grooming, we will contact the owner.
- Additional flea and tick treatment may be offered where appropriate and with the owner's consent.
- Additional charges may apply.
- We reserve the right to postpone or refuse grooming where parasite infestation presents a risk to other dogs or the salon environment.
8. Grooming Services & Results
- Grooming services are tailored to each dog's breed, coat type, condition and individual requirements.
- We will make every reasonable effort to achieve the style requested.
- We cannot guarantee an identical result to photographs or previous grooms.
- Owners should clearly communicate their grooming preferences before the appointment.
- Any changes to the agreed service will be discussed before proceeding.
9. Anal Glands & Additional Treatments
- Anal gland expression, teeth cleaning, flea and tick treatments and other additional services are only carried out where appropriate.
- Certain treatments may not be suitable for every dog.
- We reserve the right to decline a treatment if we believe it is unsuitable or may compromise the dog's welfare.
- Owners must disclose any relevant medical information before additional treatments are undertaken.
10. Collection & Late Pick-Up
- Owners will be contacted when their dog is ready for collection.
- Dogs must be collected promptly following notification.
- Any significant delays should be communicated to the salon.
- Repeated late collections may result in additional charges, provided these have been communicated and agreed in advance.
11. Emergency Veterinary Care
- Your dog's welfare is our priority.
- In the unlikely event of an emergency, we will make reasonable attempts to contact you immediately.
- If we cannot reach you and urgent veterinary attention is required, we reserve the right to arrange appropriate veterinary assistance.
- Any veterinary costs remain the responsibility of the owner, except where otherwise required by law.
12. Photography & Social Media
- We may take photographs or videos of dogs during or after their grooming appointments.
- Images may be used for promotional purposes, including our website and social media pages, only where the owner has provided permission.
- Owners can withdraw their permission for future use of images by contacting us.
13. Personal Belongings
- Owners should remove collars, harnesses, clothing and unnecessary accessories before handing their dog over, unless otherwise agreed.
- Any belongings left at the salon will be kept for collection.
- Please inform us of any valuable or essential items accompanying your dog.
14. Insurance & Liability
- Polished Pawfection takes reasonable care to provide a safe and professional grooming environment.
- Every reasonable precaution is taken to minimise risks during grooming.
